HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/02/1942 Council Minutes March 2, 1212 Regular meeting of the Toun Council, Toon of Fairfax, iava, held this 2nd duy of March, 1942. The meeting was called to order at 8 P. M. by Mayor Nw Behle and all councilmen were present. The minutes of the pr cam,eeding oceting were read ond approved as read . Richard James Mitchell, Vin cent Nekvinda and F. F. Crowell appeared before the council and -equested that a group of young boys known as We Buddies'' be permitted the u5e of the f n station for storing, sorting, and caring for pager which they prapoae to gather and sell . DeQnse stamps and Nter the funds might A used for some useful purpose, possibly equipping of a children ' s grovr& it was moved by Councilman W . E Heator , seconded by CounAlman Chas J . Dv-rok and unaniwously carried to permit the boys to use the fire station for the purpose outlined provided that E. F. Cr'eve ll, or some othar member of the Fire Departwent always be present when the boys Eare in the Wtion and about the truck. A petition signed by a number of people who reside south of the Bolnnd barn requesting b street light in that vicinity was read and it was moved by Councilau-n C . E. Hsators Seconded by Frank J . Neynihen and unari- mouOy carriEd that the Clerk write the Iowa Electric Light & Power Company regarding the possibility of obtaining an edditional light as requested in the DetAtion and rpport same to the next meeting of the Council for further action . It ues moved by Councilman G . J . Knickerbocker, seconded by councilman A. E. Dvorak and unanimously carried that the Mayor be and is authorized and directed trr make some satisfacto-y arrangements with Wm. F. Chalupsky regarding the dumping of rubbish, to purchase the necessary wire , posts and other material neccao8ry and to make some vati5factory arraggements vith regard to payment for the privilege of dumaing rubbish . ........... . . . 2 it was moite0'_ by Councilman ma Es Dvorak, Seconded by Councilman C .
