Nor, TO-1'VIT, this 6th day of April, A.D. , 1942 at the
hour of $12.00 o ' clock noon, the Torn Councl.l of the Town of
EairfLx, Iowa, as dull' elected9 assembled for the purpose of
organization under the provisions of Ohapte.r 237 of the Code
of Iowa, of 1935" and upon .motion du:,Ly made, seconded and
carried, this meeting was duly recessed until 7 : 30 o ' clock
P. M. of this date to re-assemble in the offices of the Fairfax
State Savings Bank, Fairfax, Iowa.
AND HO�y`, CIO-7, T', this 6th day of April, a.D. , - 942, at
the hour of 7: 30 P. M. the said Council of the Torn of Fairfax
Iowa did re--assemble, there being present all members of said
Countil.
Nm. Behle, having been elected mayor of the Torn of
Fairfax, Iowa gualified by taking the oath of office a's ad-
ministered to him by J. L. Kraal, Clerk and qualified further
by filing bond in the sum of : 500 .00 which bond the council
on motion of Frank Moynihan, Seconded by Chas J . Dvorak, and

unanimously carried approved and instructed the Clerk to place
same in proper files.
Mayor, Nm. Behl.e, administered the oath of office to
each of the elected councilmen; vie Tim. E. Dvorak, Frank
Moynihan, Chas J. Dvorak, C. J. Knickerbocker and C . E.
Heaton.

The minutes off' the preceeding meeting were read and
approved as read.
The Makor announced the appointment of J. L. Krall as
Torn Clerk and Chas J. Dvorak as Fire Chief.
It was moved by Frank Moynihan, Seconded by C. E. Heaton
and unanimously carried that the appointments as made by the
Mayor for Torn CiE;rk and for Fire Chiif° be approved.
It was moved by Chas J. Dvorak and Seconded by 14m. E.
Dvorak, and unanimously carried that the Fairfax State Savings
Bank of Fairfax, Iowa be and is hereby designated depository
for fiu aids of the Town of Fairfax and that R. F. Listeb, --ger,
'Treasurer of the Town of Fairfax be and is hereby authorized
to deposit funds of the Tovfn of Fairfax in Said Fairfax State
Savinf.s Bank in sums totaling in the aggregate not to exceed
05,000.00.
The report of Fire Chief, Chas J . Dvorak, for the past
year was approved.
The report of Town Treasurer, E. F. Listeb arger, for
the past year was approved.
Application of James Yanecek for Class "B" permit
effective from expiration of his present permit, April 21,
1942, was read and approved and it was moved by C. J. Dvorak,
April 6, 1942 Continued
seconded by G. E. Heaton and unanimously carried that the
clerk issue the new permit to James Y anecek upon payment
of the $100.00 annual license fee.
The Council sitting as a board of review examined th,e
books of Assessor, James Yanecek, and, same were approved...
It was moved by C. E. Heaton, Seconded by Wm. E. Dvorak
and unanimously carried that the Council meet on the First
Monday of each month at 7 e ZO P. U. at the Fairfax State
Savings Bank.
It was moved by C. J. Knickerbocker, seconded by Frank
Moynihan and unanimously carried that the Statutory fee of
$i.00 be paid to each councilman for ,each meeting he attends,
that the Mayor be paid .$1. 50 for each meeting he attends and
that the Clerk be paid $60.00 per year salary.
Mayor Beh ll�e appoint as a Streets & Alleys committee
the foltoving Councilmen: C. J. Knickerbocker, , Wm. E.
Dvorak and C. L. Heaton.
The appointment of marshal and ;Street Commissioner
was defered until a 1tter date.
It was moved, seconded and carried to adjounr.
