HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/13/1944 Council Minutes 109 January 13, 1944 Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa held this 13th day of January, 1944. The meeting was called to order at 7: 45 P. M. by Mayor, 4m. Beh e. Councilmen present: Frank Moynihan, C. J. Knickerbocker, Win. E. Dvorak and C. J. Dvorak. Councilmen absent: C. E. Heaton. The minutes of the preceeding were read and approved. It was moved by Councilman Chas J. Dvorak, seconded by councilman Frank Moynihan that the Treasurer be and is hereby authorized and instructed to execute an Anticipatory Warrant for $500.00 in favor of the Fairfax State Savings Bank, said warrant to draw 4% and to be paid out of anticipated tax fund collections made during 1944. The motion unanimously carried. A bill for $110. 50 by Amos Melberg for excavating with drag line on the road running east and west and commencing at the south end of Vanderbilt Street. It was moved by Councilman C. J. Knickerbocker, seconded by Councilman Wm. E. Dvorak and unanimously carried that the bill be allowed and -aid. It was moved by Councilman C. J. Knickerbocker, sedonded by Councilman, Wm. E. Dvorak, and unanimously carried that a tax of $1.00 be levied against each male and each spayed female dog and $3.00 against each female dog, said tax being due and payable to the Town Clerk before April 1, 1944 and if said tax is not paid before April 1, 1944 that a penalty fi f $1. 00 attach on that date. There being no further business it was moved, seconded and unanimously carried to adjourn. /,/ //I foe °yor Town Clerk.
