March 6, 1944.
Regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax,
Linn County, Iowa held this 6th day of March, 1944.
The meeting was called to order at 8 P. M. By Mayor Wm. Behle
and all Councilmen were present.
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING
APRIL 1, 1944 AND ENDING MARCH 31, 1945.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRFAX, LINN
COUNTY, IOWA:
That in accordance with the budget previously published and
Certified, and in accordance with Section 6218 of the Code and Chapter
187, of the 50th G. A. and paragraph 16, of Section 5663 of the
Code, there is hereby appropriated the estimated revenue to be re-
ceived in the kiatgat year beginning April 1, 1944 and ending March
31, 1945 the following amounts and for the following purposes:
Consolidated fund $1,790.00
Fire Maintenance 120. 00
Fire Equipment 60.00
The above and foregoing resolution was offered by Councilman
C. E. Heaton who moved its adoption. It was seconded by Council-
man C. J. Knickerbocker and unanimously adopted.
It was moved by Councilman C. J. Dvorak, seconded by
Councilman Wm. E. Dvorak and unanimously carried to join the Iowa
Municipal Accounting Officers Association and that the Town Clerk
be and is hereby authorized and instructed to remit $3.00; the
annual dues, to Stanton James, Secretary-Treasurer.
It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried, that
John E. Murphy, LaVerna Listebarger and Virginia Shaw, be
appointed to the Election Board for the coming Town Election
to be held Monday, March 27th, 1944.
There being no further business it was moved, seconded
and unanimously carried to adjourn.
