Meeting of the Town Council of the Torn of Fairfax, Iowa
held this 26th day of i'da.rch, 1945.

The meeting was called to order at 7: &0 P. M. by Mayor
!, Ift. Behle.
Councilmen present: C.J .Knickerbocker, dim. E. Dvorak
and Chas J. Dvorak,
F Absent: Frank Moynihan, and C. E.Beaton, deceased.
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
The death/ of Councilman, C. E. Heaton, which occued
March 13, 1945 left a vacancy on the Town Council.

It was moved by Councilman C . J. Knickerbocker, Seconded
by Councilman Wm. E. Dvorak, and unanimously carried that
Frank L. barter be named as councilman to succeed C. E. Heaton,
deceased.
Mayor Behle issued the oath of Frank L. Barter who then
took his place as a Councilman.
It was moved, seconded and carried to allow and pay
a bill of $7. 71 to C. L. McCaughey for handcuf'f's he purchased
for use a Town Marshal.

It was moved by Councilman, Wm. E. Dvorak, Seconded by
Councilman G. J . Knickerbocker and unanimously carried to
pay C. L. McCaughey jJ25.00 for seryices as Town €afar chall from
the time of his appointment to Mar. 31, 1945.
It was proved by Councilman C ® J . Knickerbocker, sedonddd
by Councilman Chas J. Dvorak and una,nimousi'77 carried to adopt
the following Resolution:
WHEREAS, On March 13th, A.B. , 1945, our beloved friend and
brother, Charles E. Heaton, departed from this world forever
into eternity, and
WHEREAS, in the future we shill greatly .miss his friendly
;greetings, his keen wit, his sound advice and kindly counsel,
and while we sorrow with the loved ones who by him are left
behind, we bole in compliance with the expressed will of Him
who doeth all things wisely and hell,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of Fairfax,
Iowa, that we sincerely regret the passing of our associate,
friend and brother; that his absence from all future meetings
is a loss which will be hard to overcome; that he has left
vacant a. place which never can be filled, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this
Resolution be spread -upon the records of the Town of
Fairfax, Iowa in ffiemdriam, and a copy be sent to the
family of him who has left us, as a token of our
esteem and respect.
