February 4, -946.
Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa held
this 4th day of February, i946.
In the absence of Mayor, Win. Belle, it was moved, seconded and
carried that C. J. Knickerbocker. act as mayor pro temp.
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved.
It was moved by Chas A. Elson, Seconded by Frank L. Barta and
unanimously carried to accept the resignation of Mayor, Wm.
Belle, dated Nov. 2, 1945 and which resignation was read at the
meeting Nov. 5, 1945.
It was moved by Chas J . Dvorak, seconded by Chas A. Elson
and unanimously carried to appoint John Lefebure Mayor to
fill the unexpired term of Mayor Vim. Behle, resigned.
• John Lefebure ' s bond for $500.00 was presented and it was moved
by Vim. E. Dvorak, seconded by C. J. Knickerbocker and unanimously
carried to approve the bond.
The Clerk issued the Oath of Office to John Lefebure as mayor
who then took over and presided at the rest of the meeting.
Bills from the Concrete Materials & Construction Company for
$105. 56 for crushed rock furnished at the Losey corner Nov.
30 and Dec. 1, 1945 was read and it was moved by C. J . Dvorak,
seconded by Frank L. Barta and unanimously carried that the
bill be approved and paid.

and unanimously carried that the Town Clerk be and is hereby
instructed and authorized to notify Ross McCoy by letter that
he is to take immediate steps to have his children who are of
school age placed in proper school, or schools, where they
may receive adequate training and education and to report to
the Town Council on, or before, the next regular meeting which
is to be held March 4th as to what he has done, and further
to advise him that if he does not take action to requested
it will be necessary that the Town Council request proper
authorities to arrange to have said children provided with
education and training.
It was moved by C. J. Knickerbocker, seconded by Wm. E. Dvorak
and unanimously carried that the Town Clerk be and is hereby
instructed to write a letter to Wm. Behle expressing our re-
grets at his resignation and convey to him the appreciation
of all Councilmen of his past services as Mayor and to thank
him for his fine cooperation.
There being no further business it was moved, seconded and
carried to adjourn.
