HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/03/1946 Council Minutes 139 April 3, 1946 Special meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa. The meeting was called to order at 7 : 30 p. M. by Mayor, John Lefebure. Councimen present: Chas A. Elson, Wm. F. Dvorak, Chas J. Dvorak, and Frank L. Barta. Councilman C. J. Knickerbocker arrived later during the meeting. A. G. Otten, a representative of the Iowa Road Building Company presented an offer for oiling the streets; furnishing approximately 13,000 gallons of oil at 9. 28@ per gallon applied on the streets and to spread chips at 75¢ per ton; said chips to be on freight cars at Fairfax. The contract provided a clause that same could be cancelled by the council on, or before, June 10, 1946. It was moved by Councilman Chas J . Dvorak, Seconded by Councilman Wm. E. Dvorak, and unanimously carried to accept said contract and that the Mayor and Town Clerk be and are hereby authorized and instructed to sign same on behalf of the Town. Disbursements made on orders by Town Clerk for the Fiscal year ending March 31, 1946, being numbers 452 to No 514 inclusive were read, and it was moved by Councilman Chas A. Elson, seconded by councilman Frank L. Barta and unanimously carried to approve all of said disbursements. Consider discussion was had regarding preparing the streets for the oil, etc. There being no further business it was moved, seconded and carried to adjourn.,e dedrvvu ..---/\ , Town Clerk Mayor.
