June 3, 1946
Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa
held this 3rd day of June, 1946.
The meeting was called to order at 8 P. M. Mayor, John
Lefebure.
Councilmen% present were C. J. Knickerbocker, Chas A.
Elson, Chas J. Dvorak and Frank B. Barta.
Councilmen absent were Wm. E. Dvorak.
The Minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
A. J. Berthel, representing Strang' s Inc. , appeared
before the council and explained in detail their plans for
operating a sausage kitchen in the building formerly occupied
by the Dvorak Grocery.
It was moved by Councilman, Chas A. Elson, and seconded
by Councilman Chas J. Dvorak, and unanimously carried that
Strang' s Inc. be and are hereby granted permission to convert
the building they propose to occupy and to operate a Sausage
Kitchen in compliance with pure food regulations now, or here-
after, in effect by the constitubdd authorities.
The gollowing cigarette license applications were
read:
Edgar Firkins, Emma and Charles J. Boland, doing business
as Boland Tavern, Ralph Lmanuel and Raymond J. Probst.
It was moved by Chas J. Dvorak, seconded by Frank L. Barta
and unanimously carried to grant all of said applicants cigarette
permits upon filing of proper bond and paying the establised
fee of $50.00 per license.
Application for Class B. Beer license by Mrs Emma Boland
and Chas J. Boland, doing business as Boland Tavern was read and
it was moved by Frankl. Barta, seonded by Chas J . Dvorak and
unanimously carried to greant the beer prmit to them upon filing
of bond and paying the $100.00 license.
There being no further business it was moved, seconded
and carried to adjourn.
