July 1, 1946
Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax,
Iowa held this 1st day of July, 1946 .
The meeting opened at 7 P. M. In the absence of
Mayor, John Lefebure, Chas A Elson was made acting mayor
for this meeting.
Councilmen present: Chas A. Elson, Frank L. Barta
and Chas J . Dvorak.
Councilman absent: C. J. Knickerbocker.
Councilman, Wm. E. Dvorak, having passed away
June 4, 1946.
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved.
A. J. Berthel, representing Strang' s Inc. appeared before
the Council and explained their plan for erection of a locker
plant and killing plant and it was moved by Councilman Frank
L. Barta, seconded by councilman, Cb as J. Dvorak, and unanimously
carried that Strang ' s Inc. be and are hereby granted permission
to construct a Locker Plant and Custom Killing Plant at their
property in Fairfax; said plants to be operated in compliance
with all laws now, or hereafter, enacted.
The following bills were read and obdered paid:
Concrete Material and Construction Co. for road stone and
road chips $966.88.
Chas J . Dvorak for amount paid for pick, etc. - $2.14
Chas J. Dvorak 65 hours @ $1. 50 97. 50
Louis J. Dusil, man and tractor $1. 50 per hr 222 33.75
Wm. Dusil 41 hours at $1.00 per hr. $2.00 for team 43.00
Wm. G. Dusil, 82 hours @ $1.00 8. 50
Joe Dvorak 20 hours at $1.00 per hour 20.00

The following Resolution was read and it was moved, seconded
and carried that same be adopted and a copy signed by the Mayor
and Town Clerk and forwarded to the widow of Wm. E. Dvorak:
WHEREAS; on June 4, 1946, our beloved friend and brother
councilman, William E. Dvorak, departed from this world
forever into eternity, and
WHEREAS; in the future we shall greatly miss his friendly
greetings, his keen wit, his sound advice and kindly counsel,
and while we sorrow with the loved ones who by him are left
behind, we bow in compliance with the expressed will of Him
who doeth all things wisely and well,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of Fairfax,
Iowa, that we sincerely regret the passing of our associate,
friend and brother councilman, and member of the fire department;
that his absence from all future meetings is a loss which will
be hard to overcome; that he has left vacant a place which
never can be filled, and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution be
spread upon the records of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa in
Memoriam, and a copy be sent to the widow of him wo has
left us, as a token of our esteem and respect.
