HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/01/1946 Council Minutes 146 Oct. 1, 1946 Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa held this 1st day of October, 1946. The meeting was called to order at 7 P. M. by Mayor, John Lefebure. Councilmen% Present: C.J.Knickerbocker, Chas A. Elson, Frank L. Barta and John Murphy. Councilman absent: Chas J. Dvorak. The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Moved by Councilman John Murphy, seconded by Frank L. Barta and carried that the Marshal ' s bond be renewed and the Clerk is hereby directed to issue warrant for $10.00 in payment of the premium. Moved by Chas A. Elson, Seconded by C. J. Knickerbocker and unanimously carried that we renew the Employers Mutual 0 Casualty Company of Des Moines, insurance policy covering the members of the Volunteer Fire Department and the clerk be and is hereby authorized to issue warrant for $80.00 t6vering premium on said insurance. It was moved, seconded and carried that the following person be appointed and approved as members of the Fairfax Fire Department; Chas J. Boland, Claire J. Stallman, W. W. Aims, John L. Neuhaus, Ralph H. Emanuel, Curtis J. Selzer, and Ernest Vasbinder; these men being additional to Chas J. Dvorak, John Murphy, John L. Kraal, E. F. Listebarger, Robert Lockhart, Wm. Michalek, Lloyd J. Lefebure and Berneard W. Stallman who have been members and whos appointment is hereby again approved. Wm. F. Zamastil appeared before the Council with regard to many of the persons failing to break bottles and flatten cans before setting same out to be picked up. In view of the fact that we may loose our rights to dump at the present location unless this custom is followed it was moved by Frank L. Barta, Seconded by Chas A Elson, and unanimously carried to send a letter to each Lome in Fairfax just prior to the next pickup stressing the need for com l�in g with this request or suffer the privilege of picking up such patrons garbage.
