March 28, 1947
Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax,
Iowa held this 28th day of March, 1947 .
The meeting was called to order at 8: 30 P. M. by
Mayor, John Lefebure.
Councilmen present were : Chas A. Elson, Frank
L. Barta, John E. Murphy and Chas J. Dvorak.
Councilmen absent: C. J. Knickerbocker.
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read
and approved.
RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE YEAR
BEGINNING APRIL 1, 1947 AND ENDING MARCH 31, 1948.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN
OF FAIRFAX, LINN COUNTY, IOWA:
That in accordance with the budget previously
published and Certified, and in accordance with Sec-
' tion 6218 of the Code and Chapter 187, of the 50th
G. A. and paragraph 16 of Section 5663 of the Code, there
is hereby appropriated the estimated revenue to be re-
ceived in the year beginning April 1, 1947 and ending
March 31, 1948 the following amounts and for the
following purposes:
Consolidated fund $2,065.00
Fire Maintenance 130.00
Fire Equipment 65.00
The above) and foregoing resolution was offered
by Councilman Chas A. Elson who moved its adoption. It
was seconded by Councilman Frank L. Barta and unanimously
carried to adopt the resolution.
It was moved by Councilman Frank L. Barta, seconded
by Councilman Chas J. Dvorak and unanimously carried to
pay C. L. McCaughey $75.00 salary for the past year for
services as Town Marshal.
It was moved by Councilman Chas J. Dvorak, seconded
by Councilman John E. Murphy and unanimously carried that
the Town Treasurer be and is hereby authorized to issue
to the Fairfax State Savings Bank an Anticipatiory Warrant
in the sum of $1,000.00, said warrant to be paid by the
treasurer out of any funds on hand at the expiration of
90 days from March 29th, 1947.
There being no further business it was moved,
seconded and carried to adjourn.
