HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/05/1947 Council Minutes 153 May 5, 1947 Regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa held this 5th day of May, 1947 . The meeting was called to order at 7: 30 P. M. by Mayor, John Lefebure. Councilmen Present: C.J.Knickerbocker, Chas . A. Elson, Frank L. Barta and John E. Murphy. Councilman Absent: Chas J. Dvorak. The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Ralph Emanuel appeared before the Council and requested that the Council approve transfer of his Class B. Permit from its present location in the Strang Building to the building what is now the Post Office when said building is ready for his occupancy. It was moved by Councilman Chas A. Elson, Seconded by Councilman Chas J. Knickerbocker and unanimously carried that the Class B. Seer Permit of Ralph Emanuel be transfered to his new location when his building is ready and the Clerk was authorized to make said transfer. A committee consisting of Peter Peretti, Jack Neuhaus, Ivan Smith, appeared before the council to discuss the possibility of the town installing a water and sewer system. After some informal discussion it was agreed that Councilman C . J. Knickerbocker was authorized to contact H. R. Green and request that he meet with the council to discuss with them the possibilities, proceedure, etc. of obtaining a water and sewer system. Joe Krahmer appeared before the Council later in the evening for the same purpose as the above mentioned committee. It was Moved by Councilman C. J. Knickerbocker, seconded by Councilman, Frank L. Barta, and unanimously carried before any person is permitted to mume into the town, remodel or build xkmiic a new building an application shall be presented to the Council and if the plans and specifications in the proposed building or changes is found satisfactory a permit shall be issued.
