July 17, 1947
Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax,
Iowa held this 17th day of July, 1947.
The meeting was called to order at 8 P. M. by
Mayor, John Lefebure.
Councilmen present: Chas A. Elson, John E. Murphy,
Chas J. Dvorak and Frank L. Barta.
Councilman absent: C. J. Knickerbocker
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read
and approved.
The Clerk reported that in accordance with in-
structions issued at the previous meeting he had pur-
chased Public Liability and Propert Damage on the fire
truck thru the Iowa Mutual Liability Insurance Company
at a cost of $30.80 and Workmen' s Insurance at $68.00;
making the total cost $98.80.
It was moved by Councilman Chas A. Elson, Seconded
by Chas J. Dvorak and unanimously carried to pay the amount
of the insurance premium.
The Town Clerk and prepared the Budget Estimate for
the fiscal year beginning April 1, 1948 as follows:
Proposed Expenditures - Street Cons' t. Gas tax 570.00
Proppsed expenditures - Goaselidated-fund - - - $2, 610.00
Proposed expenditures - Fire Maintenance - - 139 .00
Proposed expenditures Fire Equipment - - - - 84.00
Proposed expenditures - City hall 175.00
Total proposed expenditures $3, 578.00
To be raised as follows:
Cons. Fund (Other income $960.00) by taxation - -$1,650.00
Fire Maint. " " none " " 139.00
Fire Equipment " " " " 84.00
City Hall Maint " " " 175.00
Total to be raised by taxation - $2,048.00
It was moved by Chas J. Dvorak, seconded by Chas A. Elson
and unanimously carried that the budget estimated as submitted
be filed and that notice be publish and that August 4th, 1947
at 8 P. M. be the time of hearing.
It was moved by John Murphy, seconded by Frank Barta and
unanimously carried to pay J. L. Krall, Clerk $12.00 to
reimburse him for expense of attending a meeting of the
I. M. A. 0. A. in Des Moines, Iowa July 16, 1947
There being no furhter business it was moved, seconded
