M. by Mayor, Johnlefebure. Councilmen present: Chas J . Knickerbocker, Chas J. Dvorak, Chas A. Elson and John Murphy. Councilmen absent: Frank L. barta. The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. RESOLUTION APPROPRI !TING FUNDS FOR THE YEAR BEGINNING APRIL 1, 1948 AND ENDING MARCH 31, 1949 . BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOhN OF FAIRFAX, LINN COUNTY, IOurA: That in accordance with the budget previously published and certified, and in accordance with Section 404.12 of the Iorra Code there is hereby appropriated the estimated revenue to be received in the year beginning April 1, 1948 and ending March 31, 1949 the following amounts and for the following purposes: Consolidated fund • $3,010.00 Fire Maintenance fund 140.00 Fire Equipment 85.00 City Hall Maintenance 175.00 The above and foregoing resolution was offered by councilman Chas J . Dvorak, seconded by councilman Chas J . Knickerbocker and unanimously carried to adopt the resolution. It was moved by Councilman Chas A. Elson, seconded by Chas J. Dvorak to pay C. L. McCaughey $150. 00 for services as Marshal for the past year. In view of the added work as Marshal for the past year because of the extra railroad gans in this vicinity it was considered that $150.00 be paid instead of $75 .00 as was paid the year previous . The motion carried unanimously. The following Resolution was offered by Councilman John E. Murphy who moved its adoption: BE IT RESOLVED: that from and after April 1, 1949 the members of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax, Iowa be paid $2. 00 for each meeting- they attend with an aggregate not to exceed $100 .00 a year. 171 March 1, 1948 continued The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by councilman Chas J. Dvorak and unanimously carried. The following Resolution was presented by councilman Chas J . Dvorak .%ho moved its adootion: BE IT RESOLVED: that from and after April 1, 1948 the mayor' s prey be fixbd at "5.00 for each meeting; he attends . The motion to adopt said resolution was seconded by councilman, Chas J . Knickerbocker and unanimously; carried. It was moved by councilman C . J. Knickerbocker, seconded by Chas J.
