The meeting was called to order at a fa M. by Mayork, John Lefebui e,.. Councilmen prernet, Chas J. Dvorak, John E. Murphy, Howard V, Steinmetz, W. K. Wima and Wm. F. Zamastil . I The Minutes of the preceed?ng meetinE were read and approved. i It was moved by Hoyard Steinmetz, seconded by John F. Murphy, and unanimously carried "That in the future before anyone is permitted to dig up the streets for the purpose of laying drain ripe, sewer/. or other purposes, they shall apply to the Town Clerk for a: permit; that the matter be referred to the Street Commissioner, or Street and Alley Committee, for investigation and recommendation, and a permit either be denied or issued in accordance with said recommendntions, and not otheru se. 11 i Application for cigarette permit by Maynard Bittle and Hobert Merrill dated Jane , 1949 was read and it was moved by Chas J. Dvorak, seconded by W. W. Gims, and unanimously carried that the permit be issued, and the issuance of same be and is hereby approved. The Torn Clerk reported that representatives of the Firestone Tare, A Rubber Company ['.ere in Fairfax in response to letter written and for the parpose of inspecting the tires on the Fare Truck; that said representatives recommended that the dour tires be replaced with new tires due to the fact that the present tires are ten, or more, years old and not conisdered safe; that said Town. Clerk placed an order for new tires in accordance with said recommendation, and it was roved by Howard Steinme t seconded by W. h. i'iims, and unanimously carried that the action of the town clerk be and is Aereby approved® i There being no further business it nas moved, seconded and carried to adjourn. v Mayor -° To'::n Clerk I
