There being no further business to come
before the meeting it was moved, seconded and
carried to ;adjourn.

of twelve o ' clock noon, the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax.,
Linn County, Io a, as drily elected, assembled for the purpose �
of organization as provided for under the provisions of the
Iowa Statute.
' The Town Clerk, J . L. Krall, administered the oath of
of o�'fic,e -to Jahn E. Eurphy, the duly elected Mayor.
The Oath of office -then administered to the following.

It was moved, seconded and carried, that tho meeting
recess until 8 P. Iii. of this date and to reassemble in the
Fairfax State Savings Bank at that t1jLe
Now, TO-WITH: this 3rd dry of April., 1950, at the hour
of 8 P. M. the said Council of the To7,rn of Fairfax, Linn
County, Tovda, did re-assemble, there being present all members
of said counti.l.
It ;vas moved_ by Vi. F. Za.mastil, seconded by Ho:,ra_rd Stein-
metz and unanimously carried that the Bond of igiayor John E.
Murph7T be and is hereby approved.
Mayor John E. Rurphy appointed Councilman, Chas J. Dvorak,
as Mayor pro--tem.
It was moved by Steinmetz, seco ;c7ed by Andre�,.r G . Miller,
and rani mously carried that the bond of Mayo Pro®tem, Chas J.
Dvorak be and is hereby approved. i
Application for a renewal of a beer permit by Wm. C .
Dunlap and John, Miller was read, and it a5 moved by Chas J.
Dvorai, seconded by b"y"re Vfs ''aims, -and unanimously carried that-
the application be granted and that the Tc"<ia Clerk be and is
.hereby authorized to issue said -permit upon payment of the
150.00 license .fee and the filing of proper bond.
It was roved by j. V4. VVims, seconded by 8oarard Stem=,-tz,
and unanimoiasly carried that J. L. Krall be appointed Clerk for-
the y ensuing tto ears.

It was ,moved by Chas J . Dvorak, seconded by Howard Stein-
metz, and unanimously carried that the salary of the Town Clerk
be IV150.00 per yeas.

Dr. Harms, U.D. of Thor aay, lo.va ap=eared before the Town
Council to explain the laws and custors regardinff handling of
various communicable diseases.

It was moved by Howard Steinmotz, seconded by Wm. F
Zamastil, and unanimonsly carried that the Fire Chief by ?aid
60.00 per year for looking after the Fire Truck and fire
Station. I�

It was moved by Andrew G. Miller, seconded by Howard
Steinmetz, and unanimously carried that the salary of the Town
Marshal be $120 .00 per year.
It was moved by m. F Zamastil, seconded by Howard
Steinmetz, and unanimously carried that the foi7_ow-inZ appoint-
ments to tlx: Fairfax Fire Department be approve&
Chas J. Dvorak, Chief, Andrew G. Mi ller, Assistant
Chief, J. L. Krall, Secretary-Treasurer and E. F. Listebarger,
H obert Lockhart, John Murphy, Chas J. Boland , Ralph Emanuel;
John L. Neuhaus, Franklin J. Kaval, W. W. Wims, Howa_xd Steinmetz,
Raymond Mi_zner, and Don W. Hall as firemen.

It was moved by W. W. Kims, seconded by Wm. F. Zamastil -
and unanimously carried that the Fairfux'State Savings Bank,,
be and is hereby designated depositary for funds of the Town
of Fairfax, Toga and that E. F. Lai,stebar ,er°, Tre.asurer of the
Town of Fairfax, Iowa is hereby avOor°ized to deposit funds
of the Torn of Fairfax, Iowa in said Fairfax State Savings
Dank in sums totaling in the aggregate not to exceed 5,000. 00.
It was moved by ;'arm . F. Zamastil, seconded by Howard
Steinmetz, and unanimously carried that the report of Fire Chief
Chas J. Dvorak be approved.
It was moved: by Howard S teinmet , seconded by kndrel
G. Miller, and unanimously carried that all expenditures
made to date by warrants dravn by the Toun Clerk, being
voucher numbers 800 to 883 i.nclu,se be approved.
It was moved by Howard Steinmetz, seconded by W.
,,=o,;ms and unaaim:ously carried that we pay 25 .00 rent to
the Fairfax State. Savings to cover the east to years; said
rent being to help defray cast of lights, fuel and additional
Janitor service .
It was ?roved by Howard Steinmetz, seconded by Am. F.
Zamastil and unanimously carried that the regular meetings
of this Council be held at the Fairfax State Savings Dank
at 8 P. M. on the first Monday of each month.
There being no further business to come before the
meeting it was moved, seconded and carried to adjourn.
