Regular meeting of the Town Council, Town of
Fairfax, Iowa..

Councilmen present : Andrew G. Xiiier, Howard
Steinmetz, W., W. Wiens, and Wm. F. 7amastil.
Councilman CHas J. Dvorak, absent.
The minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 7,
and the Special meeting of May 26th were read and
approved..
County Attorney, Willis Glasgow, met with the
Council to discuss certain conditions existing.
Attorney Warren .Ackley, Marshal C.L.McCaughey,
and Streets Commissioner were present .
Town Treasurer's report indicated a total
of $3 ,455.02 -.keon hand
The following bills were read:
Raymond Snell-j46.15 ; Ia. Nat . llutl . Ins. Co . $7. 20;
J.L.i rail $22.50; Ia. State Prt . Board $16.00, C.I,.XcCau6hey
$40.00 Salary; $17.31 Andrew Miller, 'a. El. Lt . &
Power Co. $30. 50.
It was moved, seconded and carried that the bills
be allowed and warrents No. 23 to #29 inclusive issued
in payment of same be approved.
Applications for Cigarette Permits were read
as Follows : Albert W. Sankot
Chas & Emma, Boland. r, Raymond
W. Probst and Paula Mason.
It was moved, seconded and carried that the
applications be granted and the clerk be and is hereby
authorized to issue same upon filing of proper bond and
payment of the statutory fee.
Application for renewal of Class B. Beer Permit
by Chas and Emma Boland was read and it was roved,
seconded and carried that same be approved and the
clerk be and is hereby authorized to issue same upon
filing of proper bond and payment of the fee of $150.00,
The petition signed by a large number of the
school children was presented; said petition request-
in some cooperation with regard to obtaining transpor-
tation to the Ellis Park Swimming Pool. The council
were in unanimous agreement that every effort show-d
be made to obtain transportation and each agreed to
use their effort and i fl.uencd in obtaining trans-
portation.
The Town. Clerk was instructed to write to Xax
Conrad, secretary of the league of Iowa Huni ci.palities
urging that the law with respect to publishing the
minutes of each council meeting be repealed.
There being no further business to cone be-
fore the meeting it was moved, seconded and carried
to adjourn.
Application for Class B. Beer permit by Albert
W. Sankot was :read and it was moved, seconded and
unanimously carried that same be issued upon payment
of the $15b.00 fee and filing of proper bond, and
that the Class B. Perni.t of Dunlap be surf: endered
and c ancelled as of June 0, 1952 and refund. of the
unused pr tion be allowed.
