March 4, 1953
Regular meeting of the Town Council of the Town of
Fairfax, Iowa held this 4th day of March, 1953.

The meeting was called to order, at 7®30 P. X. by
Mayor, Franklin J. Karat.®
Councilmen present . Chas J. Dvorak, Andrew G. Miller,
'Raymond D. i ner, Howard Steinmetz and lim. F. Zamastil.
Councilmen absent : none.
The minutes of the proceeding meeting were read
and approved.
The treasurer's report slowing a total balance
of $4, 132.31 was read and approved.
Bills were :read and it was moored., seconded and
carried that warrants No. 95 to No. 99 inclusive in payment
of said balls be and are hereby approved.
A letter from the Town of Norway regarding exchange
of service by the Fire Departments of Fairfax and Norway
was read and it was moved, seconded and carried the letter
be filed and that the copy of our letter to Norway be
also filed, both to become parts of the minutes of this
meeting and for future reference .
It was moved by Raymond Nizner, Seconded by Howard
Steinmetz, and unanimously carried that effective from and
after Jars. 1, 1953 the fallowing allowances be made to
members of the Fairfax Fire Department

2.00 for each Sunday or Holiday to which a fireman
is assigned and remains on duty; $2.00 for the first hour
and $1.00 per hour thereafter for each fire call attended
by each fireman.
J. L. Krall submitted his resignation as an active
member of the Fairfax Fire Department ; agreeing, however,
to continue for the time being as Secretary-Treasurer of
the Fairfax Fire Department .
It was moved by Chas J. Dvorak, seconded by Wm. F.
Zamastil, and unanimously carried that rall 's resignation
be accepted as requested. I
There being no further business to come before the
meeting it was moored, seconded and car _i,ed to adjourn.
