Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of

The meeting was calked to order at 8 F. H.
DST by Mayor Joe Ktrzelka.
Councilmen Present : a S A rer
Steinmelzq and zamastil. None absent .
The main tes of the Preceeding of the meeting
wcre read and approved,
Bills as represented by Numbers 22 to 229
inclusive were read and it was moved, aecondod are
carr-ricd that same be approved and warrants No. 225
to No. 229 inclusive in payment of seas be approved,
The treasurer 's report sho in g a balance of
$9 , 094. 38 wai rea_ d and approved.
The Budget Estimate as file d July 74195,E having
been published in the Cedar tea pills, Towa Gazette on the
14th ay. of Jnlyq 1954 was discussed. There being
no objections filed and no objectors present , said
budget was further considerod and it wa5 moved by
Steinmetz, seconded by Dvorak, and rarimousy carried

her e5y adopted and that the Town Clerk k file same
with the County Auditor.
It was moWd by MOne;, seconded by Steinmetz ,
and unanimously carried that in view of the fact that
Cedar Rapids , Iowa and other towns in this community
are returning to Standard ties that DST in Fairfax,
lowaVe discontinued as of 2 A.H. S nday 3 :August q 15 ,
19541 and that the `town Clefk notify the Press and
Radio news departments of said change'.
C J. 1�nickerbocher appeared before the Council
and requested the town to five him a deed to the street
running eat from between his home and the home of
T. H. Neuhaus , Jr. . The matter was discussed but
action deferred as no agree tint was reached.
There being no further business to come before
the meeting; A was proved, seconded and carried to
