September 8, 1954 �
meeting of the gown Council of the Town of
Fairfax, Iowa held this 6th day of September, 1954.
The Meeting was called to order at .8 P. M. by
Hayor• Joe Petr el_ka.
Councilmen present : Dvorak, Miller, Mizner,
Steinmetz and Za astil. None absent.
The minu,tes of the preceeding meeting were
read and approved.
Henry W. Si. pman and Walter L, Burger appeard
before the councils and offered to deed to the town
30 feet off the south side of Lot 26 Irr Sur. NF
1.6-32®6 and the west 360.4 feet of Lot A. Gidding's
Addition; this to continue Hain Street east from its . .
present intersection with Iowa Street for a distance
®f 360® feet. Said. offer being with the understanding
that the town would put to grade and surface said
extension of Main Street without cost to the abutting
property owners. And it was moved by Steinmetz,
seconded by Dvorak to accept said deeds and that
J.L.Krall was to have same prepared and presented
for acceptance at the next meeting. :lotion unanimously
carried.
Mr. Siepman further informed the Council that
he planned to open a street north from the new extension
of Main Street, for a distance of about 360 feet and would.
offer a deed to the town for said street, and it was
unddrstood that same would be accepted,
The treasurer's report was read and approved
Bills represented by warrants No. 229 to No®236
inclusive were react and itA was moved by Steinmetz,
seconded by Hizner and unanimously carried that same
be approved.
It was moved, seconded and carried that a load
of road stone be spread on Railroad street near the
Beyer and Anderle homes and a load at the east end
of the dirt road in the south par°ta of town which road
was surfaced last spring.
The matter of some damage to the Zamastil property
from wash of'f' the viaduct was discussed and it was the
opinion of the council that such da, ages ,should be ai
of the highwya commission.
There being no further business it was mo ed��
seconded and carried to adjourn®
