Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of . 'airfax, Iowa
held. this 6th day of April, 1955 .
Meeting called to order at 7 . 30 P.M. by Mayor Joeseph
Petrzelka.
.All councilmen present- Dvorak, Miller, Mi ner, Steinmetz
and Zama til.
Ferry Merta, Jr. appeared before the council requesting
something be done about the water from septic tanks in the
ditch in front of his place and it was moved by Dvorak,
seconded by Steinmetz and carried that the Street & Alley
Committe visit the place and try and work out some solution.

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
E. D. Pratt of the Iowa Road Building Company met with the
council and discussed the matter of resurfacing the streets.
He offered a. contract to furnish ION gallon of oil applied
hot at 15®97 per gallon, to spread the chips at $1.00 per
ton and to sweep and roll the streets for $1.00 per ton.

It was moored by Mi ner, seconded by Dvorak and unanimously
carried that the contract with the Iowa Road Building Company
as presented be accepted and that the Mayor and town Clerk
be and are heeby authorized to sign same.

Bilks as represented by expenditures warrants No. 279 to
No. 30 , both inclusive, were read and it was moved, seconded
and carried that same be allowed and warrants as drawn in
payment of same be and are hereby approved,
The treasurer 's report xkax was read and it was rloved,
seconded and carried that same be approved.
It was moved by Dvorak, seconded by Mi ner and carried
that the Town Clerk notify the Iowa Electric Light and
power Company to install a street light on Vanderbilt
Street, .north of the C. & N. W. Ry. 'Tracks near the
Hap Wits residence.
The clerk was instructed to write the Concrete Materials
Construction Co, and also the Cranford Quarry asking
for binds on approximately 400 tons of chips.
It was moved, seconded and c rried to adjourn.
