Meeting of the Town Council of the `'own of Fairfax, Iowa
held this lat day of dune , 1955.
The meeting was called to order at 8 P. M. by Mayor Joseph
Petrzelka.
All Councilmen were ,.present®
In the absence of Town Clerk, J. L. Krall, Andrew G. Miller
was appointed acting clerk
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved,
The Treasurers report was read and it was moved, seconded and
carried that the same be approved@
pplications for renewal of Class B. Beer permits by Berland
tavern and by Sa:n kots tavern were read and it was moveds seconded
and unanimously carried that the permits be renvwed on payment
of the $150®00 fee and filing of proper bond.
Application for renewal of Cigarette Permits by the Boland
Tavern, 5ankot Tavern, Raymond W. Probst., Elmer M. Vorel
and Howard Wehde were read and it was moved, seconded and
unanimously carried, that they be renewed on payment of
the $50.00 fee and filing of pruper bond.
The problems of speeding in the Town of Fairfax was discussed..
:quite a number of complaints have come from people about cars
exceeding the speed limit. It was agreed that Mayor Petrzelka
speak to Marshall McCaughey on the matter and let him know that
the council will back him up on enforcing speed laws
Councilman Dvorak brought two samples of chips from Concrete
Materials and Construction Company (1/40 and /8"). The samples
were looked over and it was decided we would get the 3/8"
chips. The price on the 3/8" chips is $1.50 per ton.
There being no further business to come before ,the meeting
it was moved, seconded and carried to adjourn.
