Meeting of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax,
Iowa held this 6th day of July, 1955
The meeting was called to order at 8 P. M. by Mayor
Joseph Petrzelka.
Councilmen Present, Chas J. Dvorakq Andrew G. Miller,,
Raymond Nizner, Howard Steinmetz, and Wm. F. Zamastil.
Councilmen absent : None
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approved,
The Treasurer' report was read and approved®
It was moved by Dvorak, seconded by Steinmetz and
unanimously carried to pay from the "Road Use Tax"sp all
of the casts of resurfacing the streets, :including preparation,
ceiling, chipe , etc. if sufficient funds are available from
said account,
It was moved, seconded and unanimously carried to
Fay the Concrete Xatetials & Construction Co, $643.74 for
429 torts of chips at $1.50 per ton, to pay the Bituminus
materials Company $239.38 for patching material., to 'ay
,Andrew G. Miller $212.00 for hauling 212 tons of chips and
to pay Vim, F. 2a a tit $217.00 for hauling 217
tons of chaps.
It was moved, seconded and carried to allow all
bills as represented by warrants n. 309 to 316 inclusive,
and to approve said warrants drawn in payment of same.
Town Clerk, J. L. Krall , presented the following
budget estimate and record of filing for the estimate of
expenditures for the year beginning Jan, 1 , 1956; j
Taxes to be levied:

It was moved by Howard St in et q seconded by Raymond
Nizner, and unanimously carried that the budget estimate as
presented be filed and that the date for hearing be sat as
August 3rd, 1955 at 8 o 'clock and that notice of said hearing
be published is the Cedar Rapids Gazette®

Ordinance No. 219 copy, of which is hereto attached and
made a part of these minutes, was introduced and ready by
Councilman Raymond D. Hizner, and it was moved by Steinmetz,
seconded by Dvorak and unanimously carried, that the ordinance
as read be adopted..
It was moved by councilman Zaa anti , seconded by
councilman Miller, and unanimously carried that the
second and third readings s cif the above and foregoing
ordinance be dispensed with and the ordinance be adopted
as of this date to be in ful.l farce and effect upon
publication, or posting, as provided form by statute,
`here being, no further business to core before the
meeting it was roved, seconded and carried to adjourn.
