Meeting, of the Town Council of the Town of Fairfax,
Iowa held this 6th day of June, 1.9',5 +.

The meeting was called to order at 7 : 30 P ®M® by
Mayor, Raymond L. Mizner.
Councilen Present: Chas J. Dvorak, Ralph Emaiiael,
F. Keith Listebarger, Howard V. Steinmetz and Leonard
Yanece .
None absent
The minutes of the preceeding meeting were read
and approved.
The treasurer' s report was read, and approved.
.Bills as represented by warrants paid to and in-
eluding warrant No. 416 were read and it was moved,
seconded, and carried th t the bills be allowed and
warran s as issued in payment of same be approved®
It was moved, seconded and carried that the
dues of 30.00 to the League of Iowa Municipalities
be paid.
Applications for Cigarette Permits as follows
were read:
Boland Tavern, Sankot Tavern, Raymond W. Probst,
and Elmer M. Vorel.
It was moved by Steinmetz, seconded by Listebarger
and unanimously carried that the cigarette permits be
issued upon payment of the $50.00 flee and filing of
proper bond.
Beer Permit applications were read from the
Boland Tavern and Sankot Tavern. and 3 t was roved by
Listebarger, seconded by Yanecek and unanimously carried
that the D&censes be issued upon pa7ment of the $150.00
fee and filing of proper bond, and that the Clerk when
issuing the 1cense suggest to each in writing that
proper closing hours be observed: vie midnight on Saturday
nights xxdx in order to comply with State Law and
midnight on all other nights or it will be necessary
to pass an ordinance regulating the hours which could
be much more restrictive. Also to notify Sankot that
proper help should be furnished to operate his place
of business when he is not there to personally supervise
same himself.

Councilman, Howard V. Steinmetz offered the following
Resolution:
Be it resorted by the Town Council of the incorporated
town of Fairfax, lowas that the Iowa Electric Light & Power
Company be authorized and is hereby directed to install the
following street lights and/or to make the following changes
in the existing system, at the locations descrived herein
according to the terms expressed in the existing street
lighting contract:
New Installations:
1 100 wattage light on the new street approximately 250
feet south of St. Patrick' s Catholic Church.
1 100 wattage light at the east end of Main street at its
intersection with Siepman Avenue.
1 100 wattage light approximately 250 feet north of the
on Siepman Ave. from its intersection with Main Street.
Change in Existing System:
More the present light on Railroad street which is now
located between Park and Reynolds street to the intersection
of Raynolds Street tith Railroad. Street.
Street Commissioner, Loren S. Career, met with the
Council and he was authorized to install a stop sign on
the North Side of Church. Street at its intersection with
Park Street' and to place a Dead End, or
T sign at the south end of park street, .s aid sign to be
equipped with red fleflectors.
The Town Clerk was to see Mr. Ackley, the town attorney,
with reference to legal action to finance the proposed
new town Fire ,Station which was discusseld and plans and
specifications furnished bay Curtis Serer were considered.
There being no fur business to come before the
meeting it was moved, seconded axed carried to adjourn.
