Netin g of the town council of the 'down of Fairfax held this
April 2 , 1958 at 7; 30 P. N. I
eeting called to order by Mayor Nizner. Councilmen present
were Yan cek, Emanuel, Steinmetz and Dvorak.. The minutes of
the preceding meeting were read and approved.

6119 613, 614 were read and approved.
Wm. F. Zam stil appeared before the council to inform them that
Clarence Meskimes planned to plant crops on the land that Zamastil
had been driving over when he hauled i#unk for the town. If he
continues to drive over the same portion of land in the future,
MeskimeB would probably want the town to pay some damages. It
was indicated that the May hauling would be acceptable. Nothing
definite drone on this matter at this time. Nizner will talk with
eskimens and we will investigate the possibility of using the
Cedar Rapids dumping area temporarily.
A letter from Florence Fox, Postmaster, and also from Russell Case ,
the star route driver, requesting an ordinance be passed to pro-
hibit parking in front of the post-office. This matters having
been previously discussed and refused, will be given additional
attention. Some of the council members will talk with Mr. Case
can one of his evening deliveries to obtain more information. No
definite action at this time.
Frank L. Barta and Wm. Pehle whose term on the Town Planning and
Zoning Commission expired August 1, 1957 be reappointed for a
five year term as provided in ordinance # 21k. Such terms will
then expire on August 1, 1962. This motion made by -Dvorak and
seconded by Yanecek with unanimous approval.
The council opproved the action of the Fire Dept. in appointing
Ralph Emanuel as fire chief to replace Charles J. Dvorak, who had
acted in that capacity for years. Consequently, Emanuel will have
all the regular duties of the fire chief from his appointment can.
This will include the custodial work of the station and weekly in-
spections of the fire truck which had heretofore been designated
to Dvorak in the December 1957 meeting of this council, The annual
fee of $60.00 will be prorated to the old and new chief,
discussion concerning the sanitation problems of some of the
areas of town where, sewage is dumped in ditches wasX held. It
was decided to have.. a .special meeting as soon as possible and to
have the town lawyeV,, local people in the plumbing and construction
business, individuals whose property is near or adjacent to the
effected areas and anyone who might be possibly interested to
be present for discussion purposes.
Where being no further business to come before this council, it
was roved, seconded and approved to adjourn.
The board of adjustment submitted permission that the Stallman prop. ,
S. 100' Lot 79 Blk. 2 be permitter) usage of dwelling pr€iv ded proper
sewage disposal is provided on the property. Same attached hereto.
