Meeting of the town council called to order at 7;30 P. 1i® this
6th day of August 1958. All councilmen present, -
Mr, Sandbertt a reptestntative of Lechner Engineering Co appeardd
to the council with the findings of the preliminary estimate of
costs for construction of a municipal water works, After much
discussion, the council instructed the clerk to contact the town
attorney and Carleton D. Beh Co. of Des Moines to have a meeting
as soon as possible with the council to determine exactly whether
or not our debt limit is sufficient to handle the estimate that
Lechner provided.
The mifiut6s of the previous meeting wePe read and approved.
T'he treasurers reportt showing a total balance on hand of $13,661, 59
was read and approved.
The Budget estimate as filed on Julyg , 19589, having been published
in the Cedar Rapids Gazette on July 9, 1958 -was discussed. There
were no objectors present and no objections heard. Said budget
was further discussed and it was moved, seconded and unanimously
approved that the said budget be adopted as published and the Town
Clerk file same with the Linn County Auditor,
A motion mode, seconded and unanimously approved to reappoint
Wm. "Behle and Frank Barta to the Planning and Zoning Commission for
a term to expire August 1, 1960®
A motion made, seconded and unamimoutly approved to reappoint
Edna DeLany and Florence Fox to the Planning and Zoning Commission
for a term to expire August It 1961.
A motion made, seconded and unanimously approved to reappoint Wm.
Behle to the Board of Review for a term to expire XovaI , 19619
and to reappoint Edna Delany to the Board of Review for aterm
to expire Xov. It 1962.
There being no further busire ss to come before this meeting, it
was movedt seconded and approved to adjourn,
