The meeting of the town council of Fairfax, Ia . was called to
order at 7 ;30 by mayor Listebarger ..
Mr. 5vaboda and Mr. Morgan, representing the Iowa Electric Light
Hower Co. apreared to the council to inform them as to the
additional costs of improving the street lighting on Vanderbilt
Street. After presenting a detailed etch, and the costs in-
volved, the council dedi ced to take it under advisement and act
n 3t at a future date, at which time the light Co. would be
notified.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The
Treasurers report, h win a balance (f $13,680. 87 was read and
approved. Willa represented by warrants no. 694 through 707
were read and approved.
The current dog problem was discussed. The clerk was instructed
to pout notices in accordance with Ordinance 24 as was done last
April 1. Jae Goethiva was present, and told to pick up stray
dogs and dispose of same in accordance with this ordinance.
The council approved the appointment of three new members to the
Fire Department as voted on at the March meeting of the Fire Dept.
They are Ronald Burger, Charles Yanecek and `tom Hobson.
The street situation was discussed. It was decided to repair the
streets as soon as weather permitted. A complete re-oiling ,dab
would not be considered until more definite information concerning
the water system was obtained.
There being no further business, it was moved, seconded and
approved to adjourn.
