j Regular meeting of Fairfax Town Council held this 19th day
of Jan. , 19°TO. , .Mayor Shakespeare presiding.
All councilmen present except Karal.
Fire Chief Russell Carver present to discuss the purchase
of a truck chassis for use as a fire truck. He explained
that the fire department membership had discussed the
specifications in muc# details and had recommended the
purchase of the Chevrolet from Grovert Motor Co. On
motion by Austin, seconded by Vavroch, it was unanimously
carried to purchase the 1974 model Chev. from Grovert
for $3,945.00,

10, 1970 was approved.
Clerk to check with Architect about specifications on
t1v, Fire Station Building, and to arrange a special meeting
as soon as possible in this regard.
Letter from the UCS Board in Cedar Rapids was read. This
contained a request of $100.00 from the community to defray
the expense of the Reubella immunization program to be held
in all schools. Discussion about a person or groups that
would be willing to make some contributions$ and Austin
was to check them out . Clerk instructed to write the Iowa
j League to see if' it was proper, or legal, for the tcKn to
make such an expenditure.

February 18, 1960
A special meeting of the 'Town Council of the . town of Fairfax
met this 18th day of February, 1960.
All councilmen were present. ,
Present also were Mr. & Mrs . Frank Dvorak, Mr. & Mrs. James
Berry, and Mrs. Earl Stark. They asked questions pertaining
to annexation of the land adjacent to the town on the east
known as the Berry farm, and also the possibility of obtaining an
extension to the city water system to provide water for a
dwelling to be constructed on that farm. 'The item of costs,
and who would stand them was discussed. There was no definite
proposal made at this time.
"The, councilmen reported the results of the canvass of the
town pertaining to the number of connections for city water.
It was determined that there would be about 90 users and
about 10 taps made where the owners would not use city water.
Clerk instructed to contact Beh, Lechner and Ernster and
advise them of the next meeting. Mayor Listebarger mentioned
that the next meeting; should start at 7; 00PM to expedite
the business session prior to consideration of other items
that would probably come before the council.
