A apecial meeting of the town council called to order at
7 - 30 PM by Mayor Selzer with all councilmen present.
Letter of resignation bram Marshall Etten read and_ accepted
by the Mayor, and the vacancy effective July 1 , 1960 was
filled with the appointment of Wm. L. Serbousek.
,, The salary of the marshall will remain the same .
A discussion concerning the bids of chips to by used in
the street oiling was held. Bids from Albert Snell and
Ahrens & Manes, were mentioned, but no official action taken
at this time.
A disaussion pertaining to the operation of the water system
billing department was held, The advisability. of having the
meters read by mail was mentioned, and thought that same would
be the most economical and feasible at this time.
The suggestinn of mailing a letter to all patrons explainiiXg
the system and how it would operate was made , and the clerk
wo,ul-d be instructed to work on an appropriate set of forms.
The Mayor announced that the official censis of Fairfax
from the 1960 figures was 520.
No further business to come before the nEeting, it was
moved seconded and carried to adjourn.
