HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/19/1960 Council Minutes Julyo A special meeting of the town council of the town of Fairfax f, was called to order, at 7;30 by Mayor Selzer, Uouncilwen present Emanuel, Steinmetz, & enisek® Absent Yanecek and Nemec. The following was presented for the "Budget- Estimate and Record of Filing for the year beginning Jan. 1 , 1961. Fund Amt. to be levied® General - - - ® - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ® - none Street 39000. Public Safety - - - - - - - - - - - - - 500. Sanitation - ® - - - - - - ® - - - - - - -- - - 560. Utilities ® - - - - - - - ® - - ® - - 600. Debt Service ® - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - 4,200, Street (ag land)- ® - - - - - ® - - - - ® - - - - 65. Total to be levied - - ® ® - - - - - - - -- - $8 9 925. 00 The budget estimate as presented was considered, discussed and it was moved, seconded and unanimously approved that the town clerk have the save published in the Cedar Rapids Gazette and that the time and date of public hearing on this budget estimate be 7;30 P. A. August 3, 1.960 at the Fairfax State Savings Bank, Fairfax, Ia. The mayor reported that ,there would be a repair bill in the approximate amount of $150.00 on the squad car. After some discussion, it was moved, seconded and carried that the repair be authorized. Clerk was instructed to contact the town clerk, Harion, Ia. and obtain a copy of their city ordinance on the regulation of sub divisions in regard to streets , water and sewer lines. It was suggested that the clerk contact the Linn . County eng- ineers office to determine if they could give any advice on the proposed auditors plat in Knickerbockers land., It was thought -that a Saturday afternoon woqld be most feasible for the councilmen to meet if such could be arranged. Clerk instructed, as requested by the town attorney, to write Mrs. Pose Noren'berg in regard to the building that is currently located on her land on 149 north of the creek. She is to be instructed that if the lox site is not made conforming in 3,0 days that ±kx action will be brought in mayors court as provide'd by ordinance no. 22.
