HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/04/1961 Council Minutes January 4, 1961 The town council, of the Town of Fairfax met this 4th day of January 1961 with the following councilmen present® Nemec, Steinmetzv Zenisek,, Emanuel, Absent : Yanece , James Carville appeared to the council with a request for permission to _solicit customers in the town of Fairfax for his garbage and junk hauling business. Details of his operation and froquency of p7kck ups were discussed. If operated o he would pick up garbage and #unk each Saturday. His fee would be ®50 per week for bach household unit. The council, after much discussion, gave tentative approval® It was suggested that a form letter be mailed to the citizens explaining that this was a voluntary service on their part, and that it in no way was being made mandatory by the town. The regular yank collection would continue to be provided by the town on a free basis, Mrs® Bert na Stark and Mr. ball presented to the council some data can the proposed annexation and its conditions. In the presence of Mr. Hall and the council, Mrs. Bertina Stark further agreed that she would re bare the town rap to $250.00 for maintaining the newly graded street in the annexed area. This payment would be made as deter- mined necessary by the council no later than Dec. 31, 1962. The mayor instructed the clerk to past notices stating that it would be n ce nary for dogs to be restricted from running at .large after J4#uary 10® This notice to be in accordance with ordinance number 20.
