The minutes of the. Previous Special meeting s were not read
at this time, .
The Specifications of Archie Conklin on Icrub, gutter and
`seal dote "were further discussed.
Mr. Powell fram Powell Collection Service, 9 Caroline
court ..' Iowa City, appeared to the council to explain his
garbage and junk collection service. After much discussion
and questions, it was agreed that he be a'llowdd to canvass
the: town :io solicit Jdx business of picking up junk and
garbage. His charges would be $2.00 per month and pickup
would be on each Thursday, starting with the first Thursday
In September. Clerk instructed to issue a license fot this
purpose esn a temporary basis. This service in no way would
effect the regular, free junk collection service the town
;provided at this t ime .

Voted to. amend ordinance Igo. 22 as follows. The minimum
sized dwibll.ing would have to contain 768 square foot of
floor space on the ground floor instead of the 576 previously
listed.
The council_ took this recommendation unller advisement and
consideration. Upon matron being made , seconded and unanimously
approved, it was voted, to amend Ordinance No. 22 as recommended

A motion made, seconded and unanimously ariprove s®requiredtby
the second and third readings of this 1
law. A espy of the amendment is attached hereto and made a
part of. these minutes.
Na :objectors being present and no object ions filed, the
following 'budget was declared duly adopted for 1962:
General 'fund none Utilities 800
Street :fund 3, 01. Debt Service 3,840.

Clerk reported that , proper notices had been published and
instructed to file this adopted budget with county auditor.

A request from Wm apellerberg to rent the ;road grader was
presented. It .was decided that the grader w could not be
rented for fear that it itoild break down, while being rented.
No report was available from the. committee that was 'investigating
the possibility of purchasing a taping ;machine.
Clerk instructed .to, obtain amendments of the contract with 'I
Iowa Electric Light & Power Co. to accomodate the request
of Loren Carver for a street light.

ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2 2 RELATING TO REGU-
L,ATTNG AND RESTRICTING THE LC}CATION� CONSTRUCTION, AND USA
OF BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES, THE USE OF LAND IN THE TOWN OF:
F'AIRFAX, i0vay AND FOR SAID PURPOSES DIVIDING THE TOWN INTO
DISTRICTS, AND CRATING A BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT.
BE IT ETNACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE TOWN 'OF FAIRFA , IOWA 2 AS
FOLLOWS
SECTION 1 . Section 10 of Ordinance No. 22 shall be and is hereby
revoked and canceled, and in lieu there f� the following is hereby
inserted:
SECTION 10. SI OF STRUCTURES. No house shall be built
having less than square feet of floor area for the
ground floor.
This ordinance shall be in effect after its final passage,
approval and publication as provided by lava.
