HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/03/1962 Council Minutes Dec. 39 1962 The regular meeting of the town council was held this 3rd day of December, 1962, All councilman were present, The minutes of the Novo 5, 1962 meeting were read and approved. The treasurers report was read and approved.. Warrants no, 486 to 495 were read and approved, The street light situation on West Main St. and West Railroad St. was discussed. After an inspection the following was determined to be a possible solution Inquire of the Light Co. to see if the .light at the west end of Nairn St. could have a different shade and perhaps a larger bulb. Comparing the lighted area of this existing light with the one east of it, it would appear that an improvement could be had, and it might solve the problem of a dark spot in front of the Carter residence. See if the Light Co. could install, a light in front of the Novotny property on Railroad St. and move the existing light at Jackson's west so that there would be a larger area be- tween the two lights, Clerk reported the conversation with Zamastil ( m. F. ) in regard to ladd filIX at the Neskimen farm where our junk is dumped, It was agreed that such should probably be donne. question as to whose expense it should be did arise, Clerk asked to determine if we are now paying Meskimen a greater sum annually than previous when the town dial pay j for such Land fill. It was thought that perhaps the larger annual fee, if it exists, would compensate for the land fill as needed. The request of Marshall Ser°bousek fo a clothing allowance was discussed by the council, It was decided that no allowance would be made at this tie Clerk reported on the progress of the sewer system and the easements. A phone call was made to s. H ghes about her easement during the meeting. She promised an answer soon. Clerk reported that certain Fledge Orders bad been issued :tz in payment of authorized bills from Lechrner in regard to the sewer construction, and further that they would be endorsed by the town treasurer as not paid for want of funds and carried by either the Fairfax State Savings Bank of, Carleton D. Deh Co, interest bearing, Also, the contract between the town and Hoyle has been assigned to Kosek Co. for disperse .ant to be made to them when payments are made.
