HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/01/1963 Council Minutes u I April 1 , 1963 . i The regular meeting of the town council of Fairfax was called to order by Mayor Kubasa at 7: 30 this first day of April, 1963. All members of the council were prdsent ec;pt Carver. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The Treasurers rep rt was read and approved. Warrants no. 551 ON 560 were .read and approved. 'dill Bemis , inspector Ur Lechner Eng. Co. was present for consultation on the sewer construction. Loyd OeLany was present and requested the council to extend. the seer lateral behind his property enough so that he could make a con nection w tb.0 t disturbind his garage. After some consideration and discussion, the council instructed Bemis to make whatever changes necessary to provide the 'necessary access for Many. Gene Kramer from Iowa F:+urnd was present. He discussed briefly the possibility of paving; the west end of prairie Ave. More discussion pertaining to a building code was held and Trager indicated that he was interested in seeing the town adopt a good building code for the protection of the town and all existing property owners. The sewer ordinance of Altoona, Ia. was read and discussed. Some changes were discussed and a rough draft devised to be forwarded to the town attorney for approval. Further action on that ordinance to be taken at next meeting. Clerk instructed to ask Serbouse c to inquire of the Mate Tygenic Lab of the flouride content in the Town ' s water on the next sample forwarded for analysis. The Mayor announced that as provided under ordinance No.20, Notice should be posted to keep all dogs confined. Neuhaus reported that ilelno Krouse had requested a building permit for a house on South Vanderbilt , east of Curtis Selzer, that would be 20 ft. X approximately 44 ft. Council found that the house plans, subbitted complied with our zoning; and building ordirnance, and that as long as side yard restrictions were adhered to, the building permit s i oul.d be issued. At the request of Lochner Eng. and prior approval of the council , the clerk was instructed to write the C. & A W. in regard to a license for easement for construction of sanitary sewer i_nes, and also in regard to the purchase of the Railroad .Street extended east. A copy of that correspondence is attached.. To further business to come before the meeting, it was . moveQ I Seconded and carried to adjourn. Clerk
