HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/02/1964 Council Minutes March 29 1964 The town council of Fairfax met in regular session March 2, 1964 with all councilmen present. The minutes of the Feb. 3 .meeting were read and approved. The treasurers report was read and approved. Warrants no. 711 tru 725 were read and approved. Clerk reported a trip and visit to the State Auditors office in Des Moines on Feb. 12. Information pertaining to accounting procedures on the sewer construction and bond money were obtained. Also instructions as to how sewer rental money could be collected along with the water fee, and then distribution wade monthly, or bi-monthly, or quarterly' to the Sewer fund„ On unanimousl appeva.l of the council, Neuhaus was to be paid $15.00 for expensed on this trip. Some of the proceedings of this meeting pertaining to the notices to be published, and the sale of General Obligation bonds and Special Assessment Bonds are found on separate documents prepared by Herrick & Langdon. March 16 at 7 :30 PM at the bank was set for sale of the above. ' � xwYawx�th�xaawa�#�.n�x�e� The clerk recommended to the council/ that the books of the town should be audited in the near future, perhaps later this year. Briefly, the fee charged by the state auditor would be on a per diem and actual expense basis. This suggestion made since the town has never had the books audited, since such is not mandatory. Clerk reported this recommendation due to the rather large amognt of cash that has been handled in the last few years with water and sewer construction projects. The audit would not only serve as assurance that all accounting procedures have been in order, but would also provide recommendations for future accounting methods for town employees. Mayor Clerk
