The council of Fairfax met in reguJar session this 6th
day of July, 1964.
The minules of the June I meeting were read and approved.
Warrants no. 760 thru 777 were road and approved.
The treasurers report was read and approved.
Galen Dronnen frow-a the Ia . Dept . of Health was present to
discuss the problem of water, odor present in the tone
water system. Council asLed DranneD to make a recommendation
for solution to the problem. Unnnen recommendcd that
the town contact Dr. P. L. Morris at the State Hygenic
iab at the SUI Hospital for his recommendations for collection
of water samples to be tn,sted in his laboratory. It wa
agreed that the clerk would correlate the informationfrom
Morris and further cheching with Drennen so that the council
could proceed with the proper approach to this odor problem.
Toren Cary �r was present to point out that there is a
problem of junk along the shoolder of Losey Poad when he
mows grass then n .dot the town. 11, was told that this would
bo lonked into,
Car tar pointed out the need of a Burning Ordinance , such
recommendation being the considered advice and experience of
being t1'e Fire Chief. He council disaussed itq but decided
to take no definite action at this time. Since this is
becoming a common ordinance , it was thought that the League
might have a sample on it.
Clerk instructed to contact Hiller oiling Co. in regard to
doing some oiling on our gravel roads.
Soma further discussion was hdd in regard to the budget for
1965. After a complete breakdown on each fund, the following,
was the recommenddd budget estimate , the same to be published
by the clerj. in the Gazette with the hearing to be August

Sanitation 31000.00
Recreation 500. 00
Utilities 500. 00
Debt Service 140, 00
Tntal 14740.00
A liquor per was unanimously approved for James Kurtz, he
having filod the necessary permit fee and bond & insurance
papers with the clerk. This renewal to be effective 7-17-64.
Oh motionomadeq seconded and unanimously approvedg Albert Stall ran
was appointed to fill tho vacancy of Zenisek on the council,
said term to expire 12-31-65. Stallman qualified by taking the
oath of office -administered by Neuhaus.
