Ths regular meeting of the Fairfax Toym Council was hold
May 3, IG65 with all co4ncilmen present.
The minutes of the April 5 and April 28 meeting were read
and approved.
T. H. Neuhaus asked the council about replacing the void
in his back yard and driveway as a result of sewer const.
He was told that the town would consult with the contractor
or his bonding Cbmpany. He also asked about the culvert
at his driveway entrance that was removed by the sewer
contractor.
Nrs. Richard Kendall asked about du t:.. control for the
condition on Church Street. She was told that this was being
considered along with thy othcr street work proposal that
was in process.
Orville Fruendt was present to discuss water and sewer
00111neWons for his property on Vanderbilt St. HQ asked
Permissinn to make an emergency connection as a ten Turary
measure in the evint his oun well went bad. No such permission
granted at this time,
Orville Smith was present to Xyyy ask about an unpleasant
conditinn caused by poultry adjacent to his property. he
was told that there was no ordinance prohibiting poultry as
sucht but that the odor problem would ba invests gafed.
NO. Gnarhart from Capital Cortrols Co. visited witb the council
about a continuous clorinator for oar water system.
U0 quoted a/ price of $830.00 with a 30 day free trial period.
No definite action taken , but it was agreed by the council.
that if a water odor developed that the Mayor could orde--
tIc clorinator installed for the 30 day period without waiting

ApProximately eight citizens from Tarpy Adfition of Linn c'
Coynty viAted with the council in regard to possible arnex-
atiop. After considering things such as water, sawer and
streets, i t w= agreed that The Tqwn of Rairfax was not in
condition at Phe prosQnt tine to consider such an annexation.
Billy as represented by Warrants no. 915 thru 936 were read
and approved.
TiTayar Zenisek related his re5ults; of finding a playground
Matz supervisor. It was agreed that if one can be located,
the pay would be comparaDle to that paid in 1064. Wisek
was given authority to employ soverne on that basis if
a qualified persun was aMilable,

same to be used as a Tee Crean stand and be a portable -lype

On Unamious action , the council approW the action of the
Fire Department in electing Russell Carver as fire chief�
and also the other officos in the department . Michael
Hickey was confirmed as a now member of the depaotment.
Clerk asked tc write or call Dr. Morris in tbe, State
Lab, at Iowa City in regard to their recommendation on the
clorinator that was discussed by Mr. Gearhart.
A Class P. Beer permit for James Kurtz was approved subject
to the filing of necessary paper5n aO peTment of fees,
A Qa5s B. Beer permit was arproved .f.. r George Sisson subject
to the filin! of necwss2ry papers and payment of fees,
