HomeMy WebLinkAbout07/05/1965 Council Minutes July 51 1965 The regular meeting of the Fairfax Town Cogncil was held this 5th day of July with all councilmen present. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. The treasurers report was read and approved. Warrants no. 979 thru 982 were red and approved. Clerk asked to prepare a letter to be mailed in connection with the sanitary sewer connections in accordance with the sewer ordiinance and the resolution passed this meeting. The presence of 15 yr old children at the playground was discussed, It was determined that this age group would be permitted, if it met with the approval of the playground director. Clerk instructed to inquire about a new tank level control unit for the water tower. Mayor asked clerk to order a telephone for the town hall. A discussion was had in regard to a reimbursement from the Ia. Ill. Gas & Elec. Co. for damages to the :streets in town that was do m by their sub !contractor, Clerk to meet with Mr. Colbert July 6 to see what, Ia. Ill. Gas thinks of the damage after they Dave had a chance to inspect it. Mayor requested clerk to get some prices on a used desk for the town hall. Class C. Liquor permits were approved for Albert L. Snell and James H. Kurtz. The matter of the budget for the year 1966 was discussed in detail, The budget request was prepared, a copy to be published in the Gazette and a copy on file with the clerk, and the date of hearing set for August 12, 1965 at 7,-30 in the town hall. Levies or askings for the various funds are as follows: General none! Street 29000, Utilities 450, Public Safety 4,100 Debt Serv. 6,410, Sanitation 3,480 Recreation 200 total A considerable amount of discussion both at this meeting and at previous ones had been done in regard to a street repair program. A resolution of Necessity, a copy which is attached, was introduced by Carver, providing for street repair work.
