It 1965 with all councilmen present except Carver, Minutes of the August 2 and Aug. 12 meeting were read and appr. Warrants no® 7 thru 29 were read and approved. The treasurers report was read and approved. The problem of water discolovation at the west end of Main Street was discussed. The problem has gotten worse in recent weeks and has been viewed in person by some of the councilmen. It was decided that Serbousek would bleed this line oftener and Piore vigorously and the clerk was asked to check with Cap, Controls to see if the clorinator might have some effect on this problem, In regard to the discussion last month regarding police protection, it was unanimously agreed that Wk. L. Serbousek would be paid $2.00 per hour up to 20 hours per month,, for time spent in operating the radar system. This m uld be in addition to the regular pay of $85.00 per month. The intention of this is to allow Serbousek to spend more time on routine patrol and police work in the town p roper and still compensate him for the time sptat in radar work. This change is effective Sept. 19 1965., It was agreed by the council that the hours for the Teen Age Dances held in the American Legion Hall, would not run later than 11:30 P. X. Mayor inquired about the status of the new ordinancesv and the clerk reported that Ackley is waiting for Cedar Rapids to publish their new ;City Code and that it would be an aid in our revamping program, It was agreed that the clerk would order the necessary resolttions from the Light Co. to enlarge the lights on Church St. between Ia. and Reynolds Street.
