HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/04/1965 Council Minutes 2-1 Oct. 4, 1965 The town council of Fairfax met in regular session Oct. 49 1965 at 7: 30 P. N. with all councilmen presente=caqVt Kevgr. The minutes of the Sept . 1 , 1965 meeting were read and approved. There was no word from Capital Controls concerning the operation of the clarinator in use® Any action on the water problem is to wait the word on a possible larger unit. It was agreed to contact Iowa Fund in regard to the sale of the land in the lagoon area that Ia. Fund had agreed to purchase for $400.00 per acre . The Linn County Engineers department contacted the clerk to inquire about the possibility of extending the water main south on the County Read toward the county shed, Clerk instructed to advisd them that no plans are now in existence for such a continuation at the towns expense. Consideration would be given to such a project if same were at the property owners expense® Warrants no, 30 t were read and approved® Sealed bids were now accepted on the over flow from the lift station in the sanitary sewer system located at the south side of the C. & N. Railroad, Hennessey Bros, Inc- submitted a bid of $6,420.00 plus crushed rock for bedding pipe at $5.00 per ton. In view of the higher than anticipated bid, all bids were rejected, (Engineers estimate was 3,770.85® ) Clerk was asked to contact the C. & N. W. to see if they would assume any of the cost of cleaning the ditch on the south side of their tracks for dvainage purposes® Class B. Beer 3emit an,- a cigarette permit was approved for Marilyn Fielder. A class B. Club Beer permit was approved for the American Legion Post 572,
