December 6 , 1965
The Fairfax Town Council met Dec. 6 at 7 .-30 P. M. with all
councilmen present.
Also present were councilmen elect Sondra, Buresh and Shakespeare.
The minutes of the Nov. I and Nov. 2 meeting were read and approved.
The treasurers report showing a balance of $28,355.90 was read
and approved.
Warrants no. 51 thru 80 were read and approved®
Mrs. Clarence Carter and Mr. & Mrs. Eldon Dyson were present
to discuss the problem of undesirable water at their residences.
After stating their problem of rust colored water and the problems
A' created, the councilagreed that they would contact some
responsible source of information and attempt to determine a
feasible solution to the situation,
Howard Powell, owner of Powell Collection Service, was present
to discuss an extension of the ju4k collection agreement. It
was agreed by Powell and the council that the same agreement would
continue another year, 1-1-66 to 12-31-66 and that this agreement
would contain an '01K4J automatic extension clause unless either
party notified the other within 30 days 'prior to the expiration
of said agreement. The automolic extension periods would be for
one year,
Ordinance No. 65-1, An Ordinance To Establish the Salaries
of Municipal OfficerEs was introduced by Nemec. On motion by
Nemec, and seconded by Carver, said ordinance was unanimously
approved on roll call vote.
Mition. by Carver and seconded by Merta that the second and third
readings be dispensed with was unanimously approved on roll call vote.
Two bids on a new patrol car were presentedg but no action taken
at this time.
Clerk instructed to contact Ia. Elec. Lt. & Power Co. in regard
to improved street lighting.
Application from Pekomy Post 572 for a renewal of their Class A
Liquor Permit was presented,, the same being approved, subject to
the filing of the necessary papers and fee,
The Official Budget-, Report to the StateHigbway Commission for the
peri6d 11-66 to 12-3166 was presented and approved, said report
consisting of Forms No. RUT 3-A9 RUT 3 bq RUT-4.
In view of the undesirable bids submitted at the Oct. 4 meeting on
the construction of the sewer overflow and the storm sewer ditch,
and considering the engineers estimate of $3,770,35, it was agreed
that Mayor Zenised be authorized to negotiate with Gee Excavating
and Swisher Plumbing Co, to do the "ob on an hourly rate. Estimates
from these contractors indicate tM the job can be done for less

than event he eng,ineers estimate and definitely for less than
tl-ie one bid submitted by Hennessey Bros for $6'420,00,
No further action,, meeting adjourned.
