The Town Council of Faiilax met in special session Feb.
72 1966 with all councilmen Dresent.
This meeting was called for the rurpose of HMO; on the
rqqucst of Smith Douglas Fertilizer Co. to purchase the tract
of land discussed at the Jan, venjing.
Several of the council indicated they had driven to Keystcne
to ob6crvc a plant there ownsd by Smith Douglas,
Aftef much discus Ayn in regand tae *hat this Astallalion could
do for the town the Knediote area, and the aroa in general,
a6 well as the effect it would have on Iowa Fundl inc. and the
Linn County Corservation Connission perlsining V future plans
of these two organizations, the clert was( Astructcd to notify-
Smith Douglas that the site was not available as per their
request. In adAtion to tho problems that would involve the
Linn Co. Cons . CorF. and Iowa Fund , it was pointed out that ther�
is a Sanitary Sewer Force Main located right where the building
was proposed. Due to future maintenance of this main, it was
Qvious that a builCing could not I erected at this site.
Clerk instrocted to write Whitney Pump Col , Uayne Western Co. '
and Thorpe Pump Co. for bids on pump maintenance for Ae town.
