The regular meeting of the town council was held this 14th day
of Larch, 1966 with Zenisek presiding and all councilmen present
except Stallman,
The minutes of the Feb. 7' Feb. 14, and fib. 16 were read and approved.
Warrants no. 146 thru 154 were .read and approved.
The treasurers report was .read and zpproved.
Wallace Selzer submitted the report of tim Planning & Zoning Commission
meeting of March 6, 1966 pertaining to the request of Smith Douglas
for a fertilizer plant, The report was read showing a negative vote
of 3 to 0 with one member abstaining from voting.
Further consideration was given this request by the coundil and
in addition to previous discussions, it was pointed out that this
would constitute spot zoning and that denial would be protection
of existing; resi.denti.al. owners. On motion, by Bureshand seconded by
ovar, the council unanimously &'proved the report of the P. & Z.
Coission and denied the sale and permit to Smith Douglas,
Rudolph Nemec was present on behalf of Frantz Dvorak. Dvorak
.resides just outside the corporate limits (property separated by
a street from the town limits) and he is requesting to purchase
water from the town by way of a 2 or 311 copper line constructed,
from the end of the main in Church Street. After reviewing the
ordinance covering water connections and realizing that selling to
a non resident could set a precedent that might create problems in
the future, said request of Dvorak was denied. The council indicated
that they would appreciate it if Dvorak would core to the meeting in
person so that he could answer some questions that obviously couldn't
be answered in his absence,
A discussion pertaining to hiring Pudil to do some tiling in the
school yard in an attempt to alleviate the water flowin the the sanitary
sewer system as discussed and it was agreed that Pudil, whould be
donsulted and if it appeared to be feasible, then he should be engaged
for the job along with Nemec,
Russell. Carver was present to discuss the possibility of purchasing
a Pesucitator forthe Firs: Department. Further inforiTation was needed
but the council. informed Chief Carver that if he felt such was a needed
addition of fire equipment , then he would be permitted to purchase it.
A Fire District was also di*cussed as a possible solution to financing;
problems of future equipment and buildings, but nothing definite decided.
The street program for this year w s discussed and it was decided to
have three engineer'°in„- firms percent for a special meeting on March 28
to discuss possible programs that would suit the town financially as
well as practically.
