HomeMy WebLinkAbout05/09/1966 Counci Minutes May 9, 1966 The town council of Fairfax met in regular session May 9, 1966 at 7:00 PH. Meeting called to order by Mayor Zenisek with all councilmen present except Kovar. The minutes of the April 11 meeting were read and approved. Warrants no. 171 thru 184 were read and- approved. Mayor recommended that David Steinmetz be hired as playground director at a salary of $40.00 per week. Said term for 8 weeks starting June l3 with hours from 12 : 00 to 4:30 PH. Said recommendation discussed by council and unanimously approved. A Class "B" Beer Permit was unanimously Approved for James H. Kurtz upon filing of proper fee, applications and bond,) effective May 10, 1966 and expiring May "101, 1967. A contract with Watertower Paint & Repair Co. whereby the riser on the water tower would' be re-covered with 26 guage kalvanized metal and securely bolted was ppproved. Cost to be $394.,00 in addition- to the regular annual maintenance contract, Bill Gibney, Ronald Burger and Steve Pickart discussed with the council the possibility of the town- paying for some improvement§t out of the recreation fund, for the baseball diamond for "Little League play. Such items as a backstopl, toilet facilities and fender were discussed. The council expressed an interest in improving the conditions, and asked that some cost proposals be submitted to the council for further consideration. Vondra submitted some street repair suggestions. He thought he could obtain some local labor and get a large portion of the repair work done. Such repair work was given the OX by the council. Mayor instructed the clerk to post the notice in accordance with Ordinance # 10 so that dogs would not be permitted to run at large. No progress had been reported by Hall Engineering Co. in regard to the street and grade elevations. No further business,, the meeting adjourned. Mayor Clerk
