The regular meeting of the town council washeld Aug, 89 1966
at 7:00 P. H.
This being the mening for a public hearing on the 1967 budget
as published in the Cedor Rapids Gazctjs� the I'luyer Called for
any objectors. There were no objectors prcscri, thur ,
no objections filed, so th,'L 'budget for 1967 wa5 approved as

Pussell Carver, Fire Chief, and Ponald StA- 1man visite& witt the
zonscil briefly in regard to estyb1ishing A Ora district. Carver
reported that he was to nest with Wilford council this =nOng to
discuss the same. Carver reported that the necessary fire hose
had been purchased as recomm9nded by the lowa Inspection Bureau.
it was agreed that tba -water dept . would pay for 2001 of this hose
since that amount gin.d Ibeen borrowed over ther years from the fire
department and wprn nut in the Laimice work on the water system.

Grant indicated that present plans would all for the county to buy
our squad car and all allied equipment and that Ue only expense wuMd
be for the town of Phiroay tn pal a pro-rate salary shard. Full time
protectiun woult then be afforded Fairfax, either through the deputy
on duty at the time , or from the regular Linn county MANY staff.
