Feb. 82 1967
The Town Countil of Fairfax met in regular session with
all councilmen present.
The treasurers report -was presented and approved.
The minutes of the Jan. 11 and Jan 31 meetings were read ai�'d
Warrants no. 346 thru 358 were read and approved.
Some property owners were present to convey their thoughts
against a permanent street improvement program. Among them
Clarence Carter
Richard Kendall
Richard Flaherty
Keith Sankot
Michael Hickey
Jame s Du ggan
These people expressed their desire that some improvements
be accomplished such as a good seal cote with drainage
problems beinig solved at the same time, but in each instance.,
they objected to any direct assessment of their property.
Some of these were in form of writt-.en petitions, and it appeared
from comments made that others of a negative nature,, also in
writing would be presented,
. Lester Sebetka was the lone property owner that expressed his
approval of a permanent street improvement program.
Clerk related a discussion of this date with Whitney Pump Co.
concerning our town well. The possibility of acidizing the well,
as well as tht maintenance needed on the pump was discussed,,
and the council approved a motionto contact Whitney and to have
him proceed with what was necessary,
Wm. Gibney, Ray Waychoff, Ronald Burger and Steve Pickart discussed
with the council the pessibility of constructing combination
rest room and concession on property owned by St. Patrick Church
at th-- baseball diamond location. Much discussion on costs and
type of building was had, and it was agreed that this committee
of four should obtain some definite price estimates on the
building proposed which was approximately 28 X 10 feet, cement
block building. It was moved by Buresh 9 seconded by Kovar,, that
the Town appropriate an amount up to $22000,00 for such a project
providing that the necessary lease could be arranged with St,
Patrick Church that would be agreeable to our town attorney.
The tree removdl by CR Tree Se-vice was discussed and payment
An invitation bythe Ia. 111. Gas.& Elec. Co. to be their gulests
on March 9 was announced by the Mayor.
