Harch 81 1967
The Fairfax Town Council met in regular session March 8. 1967
with all councilmen present,
The minutes of the dub. 8 meeting were read and approved.
The treasurers report was presented and approved,
Warrants no. 359 thru 362 were approved.
A discussion pertaining to a lease between the town and St . Patrick
Church providing for a combination toilet and storage building to be
constructed by the Town on land owndd by the Church was held. Clerk
instructed to contact t town attorney on the feasibility of such a
project. This is in accordance with the actiontqken at the FeK 8
meeting regarding the appropriation of $2 ,000 for this building.
Clerk instructed to write Wester tower Paint & Repair Co. to request
their services in repairing the riser joint in the tower pit.
A discussion in regard to punchasing a lot owned by Mile Abasa was
had and it was pointed out that thecouncil considered this at the VWX
Februagy, 1966 meeting, but decided at that time not to purchasd it.
The mayor would discuss this further Kth Knbasa.
The RUT report to the Iowa Highway Commission showing 1966 receipts
and expenditures was approved for submission to the District Engineer.
Yayor reported a visit with John Hurphy whereby he was to check in
some the lines in the vicinity of Lint Street that could be ca sing
some seepage in the urea of the troubled sewer lines.
A letter from the Job Corps Nas read requesting information on parties
that might meet the qualifications for this program, Clerk instructed
to reply to the negative.
Zeniseh reported a meeting with the Linr County Supervisors in regard
to a possible contribution toward the im pro vement of Church Street
if and when the county program of #11 regrading and surfacing the
road at the east end of Cburch St. with the Airport highway is done.
He reports that a further meeting between the Supervisors and the
council would be arranged.
No futther business, the meeting adjourned.
