The Fairfax town council met in regular session Septa 13' �
1967 with the following councilmen present Stall an,
Shakespeare and Huresh9 Absent were Kovar and Vondra.
The minutes of the .August meeting were read and approved,
Warrants no. 445 thru 463 were read and approved.
The tress. report showing a balance of 26,151.67 was approved®
Town attorney Ackley and engineer Hall were present to discuss
the possibility of an action to recover certain items of expense
from Lechner Eng. Co. Considerable consideration had been given
this possibility by both Ackley and Hall and after a lengthy
discussion with mayor Zeni.sek and the council, it was decided that
no further action in this regard would be taken.
Class B Club beer permit was approved for Pekomy Post 572, American
Legion, upon filing of necessary papers and fees.
Clerk related a letter from the IPERS and a subsequent call from
the auditor that the towns books would be audited soon to determine
what , if any, liability is awed by the town for past assessments.
.After consulting with Mr. Stephenson of the State RPgiohal Health
Service in connection with the Kubasa lot and well site , as well
as with the previous owner' Siepman and the firm that drilled the
wells it w<zs decided that it was not feasible to purchase the lot
from Milo Kubasa. Clerk instrudted to write Kubasa and so indicate
and thank hire for his patient consideration granted the town.
The restrictions caused by adjacent serer lines and the unknown
condition of the lower portions of the well structure were the main
items preventing the town from economically using this well and still
retain a public approved water system,
Mayor Zenisek suggested that the clerk write the mayors of the towns
of Ely, Norway and Newhall & .Atkins to see if they had any common
interest in personell for staffing sewer systems under the new
reguiremtnts set forth by the St te.
No further business, the meeting adjourned.
