The Town Council of FairfaN met in regular session Nov. 15, 1967
at 7 : 00 Fibs® Councilmen present were Stallman, Kovar and Buresh.
Councilmen absent: Shakespeare and Vondra.
The minutes of the Oct. 11 meeting were read and apprnved6
The treasurers report as of Oct. SE wero approved.
Wirrants no. 475 thru 488 were read/Ad approved.
Buresh intro6uced prop used ordinance no. 57-1, " Ar ordinance regulating
the business Wars of taverns 19cated in the Town of Fairfax-t Iowa, and
providing penalties" . Attorney Ackicy read the ordinonce and some
discu5sion followed. Buresh moved to approve the ordinance as read,
seconded by Kovar, was unanmously approved on roll call vote as
follows: Ayes, Kovar, Duresh an6 Nays$ nol-.e,
Hotion by Stallman that the fX second and third readings of ordinance
# 67-1 be waived was seconded by Buresh and was unanimonsly appinved
on rull call vote as follows: Ayes, suresh, Staliman and Kovar.
Nays , Eone, Clerk instructed to post in accordanon with the law.
Mayor ZeniseK and Wert Neuhaus reported the canvas of the election
of Nov. 7, 1967 w4 Said canvas was held Nov. 8, 1967 are tbo following
were the results :
Elected Mayor fot the term 1-1-68 to 12-31-69, Richard Zen iLek with
41 votes cast.
Elected Councilmen for the term 1-1-65 to 12-31-69 and the number of'
votes cast as follows:
Betty. & Austin 94 votes
Louis Buresh 101 votes
Harold L. Shakespeare 105 votes
Albert Stallman 103 votes
Robert C .Strang 92 voW
This carves agreed with the report of election judges and clerks.
it was agreed that Joe W. Krahmer would be paid 62 .25 per hour for
maintenance work for the Tw
on.
