Regular meeting of the Faif1fax Town Council called to order by
Mayor Zenisek with all councilmen present. Also present was
councilman elect Betty Austin.
The minutes of the Nov. 15 meeting were approved. The treasurers
report as of Dec. I was approved,
Warrants no. 489 t 541 were read and approved.
Sanitary Sewer fund warrants for the year 1967 were reviewed,,
numbers 204 thru- 247 read and approved.
Water department warrants, previously approved, were reviewed
from number 394 t 464.
Class B Beer permit and Cigarette Permit was approved fer Charles
J. Boland. Clerk reported that a refund would be made on the
similar permits held in Emma & Charles J. Boland due to the death
of Emma Boland. Notion by Shakespeare, see. by Buresh and approved
on a roll call vote.,
Clerk reported that a billing to Iowa Fund as of Dec. 1 was made
but that no report had been received..
John Vondra was appointed by the council to audit the docket book
of Mayor Zenisek and report to the clerk so any adjustment could
be made on finest hat go to the town general fund.
The new Tort Claims provision in recent legislation was discussed. -
Clerk instructed to obtain increased limits of liability on the
tower 's general liability policy from the St. Paul Fire & Marine Ins. Co.
A discussion was had on what fee should be paid to the certified
water & wastewater treatment certified operators by the town. These
men are Serbousek and Nemec respectively. No action at this time.
Shakespeare introduced proposed ordinance no. 67-29 AN ORDINANCE
ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES OF MUNICIPAL OFFICERS-. Attorney Ackley
read the ordinance and a discussion followed. Shakespeare moved
to adopt the ordinance as readq seconded 'by Staller an and unanimously
approved on roll call vote.
Notion by Buresh to waive the second and third readings was
seconded by Vondra and unanimously approved on roll call vote.
At this time, clerk Neuhaus administered the oath of office of
Councilmen to Louis Bureshq Harold Shakespeare, Betty Austin and
Albert Stallman for the term of Town Councilman from Jan. 1. 1968
to Dec. 31, 1969.
Mayor elect Zenisek would be sworn in by the clerk 'when proper
bond was obtained. Also councilmen elect Strang would be sworn in
when available.

A discussion on the possibility of obtaining a conference
type table for use in council meetings was had. Also the need,
for State and American flags for the council chambers was pointed
out. No action taken at this time.
Mayor Zenisek expressed his gratitude and thanks to John Vondra
and Lyle Kovar for the time and effort they have given to the
town by serving as councilmen during this recent term. Neither
sought re—election.
Mayor announced thIt the January meeting would be held on Jan.
10 at 7:00 PX*
